Meet Joanna Avery

Born and raised in the coastal South, Joanna has been a hair stylist in Charleston since 2018. After working under some of the most respected stylist in the area, she decided to pursue being an independent and freelance stylist. Her bread and butter is creating lived-in, low maintenance, and dimensional hair.

Joanna draws a great deal of inspiration from the slow-moving and more intentional way of life here. She finds immense joy in meaningful conversations and plenty of laughs, but there’s always a place for you to relax and find peace in her chair. She is dedicated to creating a safe space for people of all identities.

Outside of work, Joanna and her husband are always working on home projects, making music, or cooking up a storm for their friends while finding time to snuggle with their three dogs and two rescue cats.
